Weekly Dynasty Football Impact Events – June 10th

These are the slow weeks of the dynasty football off season but that doesn’t mean nothing is going on.  Here are some issues to keep on top of from a dynasty perspective that happened this week.

LeSean McCoy battling hamstring injury

This is significant as McCoy had an injury riddled year last year and has just not his the levels of expectation set for him since he moved to Buffalo.  At 27, he’s still in his prime, but he’s had a lot of carries over his career and he’s not a big guy, plus there are some talented backs on the depth chart behind him, so be wary of spending too much on him from a dynasty perspective.

Giovani Bernard signs 3-yr extension

This locks Bernard up until 2020 so there is very little uncertainty in dynasty on where he will play at least.  How he will play is another story as he is nothing more than a risk/reward RB2 sharing time with Jeremy Hill.  That said, if you are in PPR leagues this removes some uncertainty for drafts and trades.

Chris Hogan generating buzz at OTAs

Can’t get too excited about OTAs of course, but it wouldn’t be the first time a no name, small and agile receiver came out of nowhere to light up the fantasy scoreboard in NE.  If you are not tracking this situation, you should be.  He’s most likely on the waiver wire in most leagues and he’s worth the pick up if you can get him.

Von Miller could sit out 2016

Again, we here a lot of this in June but it can be a whole different story in September when the checks are supposed to start rolling in.  That said, Miller is a solid LB and would create depth problems on any team he’s on if he sits out.

Robert Griffin III still mastering the QB position

No duh.  He has a long way to go and anyone who is excited about his starting gig this summer is full of hyperbole.  He could develop and he could flame out, there is no telling at this point.  The positives are that he’s working with a great offensive coach that believes in him.  Beyond that, what happens is anyone’s guess, so be wary.

Austin Seferian-Jenkins removed from OTAs

ASJ has long been a breakout darling but has yet to breakout.  He tweeted out “Moving on!!!” and then deleted it.  The key thing in this situation is that ASJ has a much bigger name than Cameron Brate, though Brate has been MUCH more productive than ASJ to date.  Being that Brate is only 24, and ASJ is signaling his discontent and the coaching staff has not been happy with him.  Target Brate as a super sleeper this summer, you may not be disappointed.

Hau’oli Kikaha suffers torn ACL

This sucks for him.  He was a solid producer last year and would have been a decent DE prospect since he made the move from LB.  Plan accordingly.
