2016 RB Sleepers and Deep Sleepers

There are always RBs that come out of nowhere to create pleasure for dynasty owners.  Last year it was Devonta Freeman.  This year you should consider…

  • Christine Michael – Yes, he’s always on this list, until last year when we got passed around NFL teams like a sack of potatoes.  This year he’s back in Seattle and having a great training camp.  The RB situation there is very unsettled and it’s quite possible he’s played his way into a timeshare with Thomas Rawls.  At an ADP of 148 it’s a great place to snatch him up and see what happens
  • Spencer Ware – He’s played his way to the RB2 role in KC.  There is no doubt Jamaal Charles will be the stud in this backfield but Spencer Ware is clearly the guy to hold if Charles falters or gets injured again.  Ware is going at ADP 159 and is worth much more even if he’s just backing up Charles.
  • Alfred Morris – Again, it’s what happens on the field that matters.  Darren McFadden may be a more exciting athlete but he’s not on the field.  Neither, I may point out, is Ezekiel Elliott at this point and Alfred Morris has looked very good in two preseason games so far in their absence.  Again, Elliott will be the man here but Morris is a solid handcuff and if Elliott under-performs or gets injured, Morris will benefit from Dallas’ great o-line to put up good numbers.  At ADP of 162, it’s a sly move to get him rostered.
  • Shaun Draughn – He’s not a long term hold for sure, but Draughn has clearly captured the RB2 duties in San Fran and while he’s not exciting, he will see the field.  Chip Kelly runs the ball a ton.  Much more than one back can handle.  That means 5-10 touches for Draughn a game, not to mention if Carlos Hyde gets injured.  Is ADP is a ridiculous 188 so pick him up and hold him, he’s good for a bye week filler or late season run as he was last year.
